We help lawyers and individuals prepare evidence for review and court submission. We built Evident to reduce the time spent wrestling with discovery so you can focus on advocacy. We provide tools, not legal advice — you remain responsible for how you use outputs in any proceeding.

Offer, trials, and billing

Our paid plans include a 7-day free trial (no credit card required). Founding-member discounts and institutional pricing for public defenders and legal aid organizations are available; contact sales to confirm eligibility and terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using any service provided by Evident Technologies, LLC ("Evident," "we," "us"), you ("User," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email.

2. Description of service

Evident provides a platform for uploading, processing, managing, and exporting digital evidence. Services include, but are not limited to: file hashing and integrity verification, audio and video transcription, object detection, audit trail generation, chain of custody tracking, compliance monitoring, and court-ready report generation.

Evident provides technology tools. Evident does not provide legal advice, legal representation, or forensic expert testimony. You are solely responsible for how you use the platform's outputs in legal or regulatory proceedings.

3. Accounts and access

You must create an account to use the service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify Evident immediately of any unauthorized use.

Evident reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used for unlawful purposes, or pose a security risk to the platform.

4. Subscription tiers and billing

The service is offered in multiple subscription tiers (Starter, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise). Each tier provides access to specific features, storage quotas, and processing limits as described on the pricing page.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods. Enterprise agreements may include custom terms.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Price changes do not affect the current billing period.

5. Your content and evidence

You retain all ownership rights to evidence and files you upload ("Your Content"). By uploading content, you grant Evident a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the service.

You represent that you have the legal right to upload and process any content you submit, and that your use of the service does not violate any applicable law, court order, or third-party right.

Evident does not access, review, or analyze Your Content except as necessary to provide the processing services you request or as required by law.

6. Evidence integrity

The platform is designed to preserve evidence integrity. Original files are stored immutably and are never modified. All processing produces separate derivative files linked to the original by cryptographic hash. Audit logs are append-only.

While Evident takes reasonable measures to maintain integrity, you are responsible for independently verifying that outputs meet the evidentiary standards applicable to your jurisdiction and proceeding.

7. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the service to:

• Upload content that you do not have the legal right to possess or process
• Fabricate, forge, or misrepresent evidence
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its security measures
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Use the service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Evident does not warrant that: (a) the service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) processing results will meet the evidentiary standards of any particular jurisdiction; (c) the service will satisfy the requirements of any specific legal proceeding; or (d) any defects will be corrected.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EVIDENT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

EVIDENT'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO EVIDENT IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Evident Technologies, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right; or (d) your content.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
